Populating the 2GreenEnergy CleanTech Conference Calendar

Populating the 2GreenEnergy CleanTech Conference CalendarI make go/no-go decisions re: attending conferences the way anyone else does.  I’m motivated to go if:

• I’m invited to speak

• It’s close, i.e., a drive as opposed to a plane ride

• It’s scheduled for a time and place I need to be for another reason, e.g., a meeting with a client or prospect (which normally means the Washington DC – Boston “corridor”)

• It’s on a red-hot topic, or has specific attendees that I’m dying to meet

Here’s one I’ll skip: the HydroPower conference in Georgia.  We’re not talking about the home state of the Atlanta Braves; we’re talking about the now-independent country in Eurasia, just recovering from its days of gross human rights abuses, its protesters and Molotov cocktails, and still known for its regions in the north that pose ridiculous levels of threat to travelers.

I still think certain run-of-river hydro projects are very exciting, but I’ll download the presenters’ PowerPoint and check it out from home.
