Tidal Energy Has One Key Disadvantage

Here’s a good article for those looking for an introduction to tidal energy, though it sugar-coats the subject of costs. The author writes: “Once it’s installed in the ocean, it functions cost-competitively to other forms of renewable energy.” True, but completely irrelevant. It’s like saying that driving a Rolls Royce is affordable once it’s paid for.

This is a good opportunity to repeat the most important fact about energy.  If it isn’t cost-competitive, no one cares about a single one of its other features.  Zero, nada, zilch.  As 2GreenEnergy Associate Dr. Peter Lilienthal likes to say, “If you don’t care how much you pay for it, I’ll get you all the clean energy you can possibly imagine.
