Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo

The Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo has morphed considerably as it’s grown over the years.  When I functioned as a panelist in the event’s early years, it was called the Alt Car Expo, and was held in Santa Monica at a venue perhaps one-tenth the size of its current home at the Long Beach Convention Center.  In its current incarnation, the show has the corporate look and feel of any other large trade event, though this belies its early roots, when it was so bohemian that I used to refer to it as the “Alt People Expo.”

Earlier this week, the show’s organizers announced the core themes for this year’s event: trucking efficiency for reducing the cost burdens of a trucking fleet; connected vehicle technologies; commercial electric vehicles; alternative fuels; urban mobility through congested, polluted cities; and goods movement.

The show runs April 30-May 3. I haven’t decided which day(s) I’ll be there, but I invite anyone who wants to meet me there to let me know in advance.
