Hard To Argue Against Greta Thunberg

gretatochnaomikiNice to see how young climate activist Greta Thunberg is capturing the hearts and minds of so many millions all over the world.  Love how her calm demeanor belies her unyielding demand for a sustainable future.

What makes this work is that the core message is so simple and noncontroversial.  Her detractors (are there any?) have a tough time arguing against her.  Oh, teenagers really don’t have a right to a future?

Here’s a piece on her meeting with renowned journalist Naomi Klein.

    Craig,

Of course, it’s hard to argue against a Twee little precocious child!

But, that’s only if you are silly enough, or opportunistic enough, to indulge the school girl exhibitionist’s antics in the first place.

I guess like all “true believers” you would have been a supporter of the “Children’s Crusade”, or the delusions of the three Portuguese little oracles of St Fatima, or better still Joan of Arc, whose 13 year old hallucinations created 6 years of havoc, death and immense bloodshed.

All those earnest young fanatics in the Hitler-Jugend, Bund deutscher Arbeiterjuge so beautifully portrayed in “Cabaret” singing “Tomorrow Belongs To Me”. Sadly the future for these young folk, was dutifully dying in the SS Hitler Jugend Division. But then, the Young Communist Red pPioneers, Mao’s Red Guard fanatics, or even the murderous 12 and 13 year old child followers of Pol Pot all followed in each others passionate madness.

They all share one thing in common, youthful passion, fervor and a total lack of perspective.

The other thing they have in common, is the ability to be exploited and in turn exploit opportunistic adults who feed the child’s craving for attention and exhibitionism.

” and a child shall lead them”, hopefully with a responsible adult to ensure no harm befalls them.
