The Pro-Nuke People Who Hate Renewables Are Relentless, But a Bit Silly

The pro-nuke people who are trying so desperately to eradicate solar and wind continue their tirade: Wind is a huge waste….. One full scale turbine has enough steel and concrete to build a safe 4th gen MSR with hundreds of times the energy output that is 24/7, doesn’t need fossil fuel backup or pumped water storage.  To me the faster we put the stake through the heart of wind the better.

Yet a few of them use more nuanced language (perhaps based on the fact that 4th Generation MSRs do not exist):   Nobody is attacking renewables per se. What’s being “attacked” is the over-selling of renewables as a global energy solution.

The response I wrote last night:

Well, let’s be honest with one another.  I’m sure you’ve seen that there are two factions among you folks here, of which you represent one: those who understand that renewables represent an important component in the migration away from fossil fuels.  The other faction, the one that’s promoting manure like StopTheseThings, is clearly attacking renewables per se.   Their motto: “We’re not here to debate the wind industry.  We’re here to DESTROY IT!”  (Emphasis theirs.)  That seems fairly clear.

These people all need to take a few deep breaths, and perhaps listen to a few of the nocturnes of Chopin, which I happen to be doing as I write this to you, my friends, my fellow citizens of Earth.
