Ford Upgrades to LED Lights, Save Big on Electricity Consumption

Hi Craig, Hope you had a great week! I wanted to make sure you knew that earlier this week, Ford announced its plan to invest $5 Million to upgrade to LED lighting across its Asia Pacific facilities. Benefits derived from this switch include:
- An annual energy reduction of 18 million kilowatt-hours – which is enough to power more than 1,900 average-sized homes per year
- Energy consumption will decrease by 50-70 percent (LED lights compared with traditional lighting technologies)
- Increased life expectancy: LED lights last 5-10 years
- LED lights do not contain mercury, unlike fluorescent lights, so they are better for the environment and are not categorized as hazardous waste
- Brighter and cooler work areas, translating to a better quality of life for Ford’s employees
Please let me know if you would like any images or additional information about Ford’s latest sustainability milestone!
Daria: I had a decent week, thanks very much. Good to hear from you again, and, as you know, I love to get news like this. As I’ve told you previously, the next step for Ford IMO is: Discontinue automobiles like their Mustang 5.0 liter 8-cylinder 15 MPG (city) muscle car, and double down on transportation for the 21st Century. As always, thanks for doing your thing and staying in touch. – Craig
