Grand Opening: Marine Environmental Education Center

I had the good luck to go to college with Q.C. “Beam” Furr (pictured), and apparently, he’s as good a person now as he was when I knew him 40 years ago. As a Commissioner of Broward County, Florida, here he is celebrating the opening of the Marine Environmental Education Center located on Hollywood’s North Beach.

Needless to say, in this world where we seem to be losing the battle to preserve aquatic habitats of all types, there can never be too much education.

I don’t envy people in local politics, but, out of loyalty to a friend, I’ve been tracking Beam’s career for decades, and he seems to be consistently successful in doing good things for his constituents.
