New Zealand Does the Right Thing–Again and Again

What did New Zealand do following two mosque shootings?  It banned military-style semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines.  It didn’t ask permission of the NRA.  It simply took immediate action to protect its people.

Now we learn, to no one’s surprise, that Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s landmark climate legislation has passed in New Zealand parliament, with historic cross-party support, committing the nation to reduce its carbon emissions to zero by 2050 and meet its commitments under the Paris climate accords.

She says, “New Zealand is on the right side of history.”  You’re goddamned right it is.
