Trump Is Opening Churches, But Is This a Smart Move for Him?

Yet there is a downside. As has been shown in countless cases around the globe, failures to apply social distancing and to apply the other precautions triggers spikes in the pandemic. Currently, it appears that Trump supporters have “drunk the Koolaid” and believe that the president has done a good job in containing the spread of the disease (even though, since February, the U.S. has led the world in COVID-19 deaths per day).
But what happens when there are localized COVID spikes associated with church-goers? As shown here, this is happening around the world, and here, it seems just a matter of a couple of weeks in the future.
So what’s the wisdom here?
