Trump and Mayhem

Did you know that there really are Americans who love the violence and racial hatred that have come to define current times in Trump’s presidency?  When Trump says that venues at which police tear-gassed protesters were “beautiful scenes,” you have to understand that a significant percentage of the U.S. population sees no cruelty, no irony to that whatsoever.

In the 1979 dystopian “Apocalypse Now,” when Lt. Colonel Bill Kilgore (Robert Duvall) delivers his famous like: “I love the smell of napalm in the morning,” the audience shudders.  What a sick puppy.

Fast-forward 40 years and tens of millions of Americans are totally cool with the fire and mayhem our country is experiencing.

The world looks on in horror and disbelief.
