Mitt Romney Illustrative of Movement in GOP

Was Romney actually the worst Republican in 2012?  That’s debatable. He got whacked after it was revealed that he had said to a private group of donors that 47% of the country would vote for Obama “no matter what, (since they feel) that the government should give them housing, food, healthcare, whatever.” That’s not good, to be sure. 

He has certainly looked like a hero more recently, perhaps starting with his fabulous remarks on Trump in 2016 (see below), and by casting the only Republican vote in favor of convicting the president after he was impeached on the House.

In any case, the point being made in the meme here is 100% valid: Romney looks good, principally because the GOP has squirted to the right. and now condones anything the president does, regardless of how blatantly reckless, corrupt, stupid, mendacious, criminal, or traitorous.
