Words that Scare Us: “Boo!” and “Socialism!”

With Halloween right around the corner, maybe it’s a good time to talk about things that scare us.  And those things aren’t necessarily ghosts, chain saws, and meat-cleavers.  Some of them are just words.  Socialism, for example.

Among the many things we’ve lost here in America is the capacity to think rationally and not be scared by people who deliberately misuse emotive words to hammer us into the position they’ve chosen for us.
