Moving To a Living Wage for All Americans

From Bernie Sanders: The Walton family is worth $238 billion. Yet they pay wages so low, 14,541 of their workers in 9 states are forced to rely on food stamps to feed their families. I say to the Walton family: Get off welfare. Pay your workers a living wage—at least $15 an hour.

It truly is outrageous that you and I are paying for the Medicaid services and food stamps that go to minimum wage workers who would die/starve without them, when these people are working for people worth a quarter trillion dollars.

If there were more mercy and kindness in the private sector, perhaps we wouldn’t need government interference in our business lives.  But there isn’t, and it’s clear that the Waltons couldn’t give a damn about what Bernie Sanders and the majority of other Americans think.

This paves the way for raising the federal minimum wage.  Let’s hope it happens.
