America’s Showdown Is In Sight

As the United States approaches the showdown associated with the presidency, we all need to keep in mind that there are no scenarios in which Trump concedes defeat and leaves with even the slightest bit of grace.

The best that happens is:

a) His supporters, even though whipped into a frenzy and incited to violence, chill out, as they understand that assault and battery leads inevitably to lengthy prison sentences, and

b) Trump himself is led out of the White House in handcuffs, a spectacle that a minimum of 81 million voters would be utterly ecstatic to see.

Unfortunately, neither of these is probable.  There is bound to be some violence, and Trump will likely be 8000 miles from here on January 20th.
