Charging Trump with Insurrection/Sedition

I say no.  Sure, he told his people to go to the Capitol and “fight like hell,” or they “wouldn’t have a country anymore.”  He then watched the spreading destruction for hours before telling these people that he loved them, but that they should go home.

He might get convicted, but he may not.

If I were putting all this together I’d bring the charges that are the easiest to prove and hardest to defend.  Whether that’s fraud, tax evasion, obstruction, election tampering, extorsion, ordering someone to commit a felony, violations of the emoluments clause or campaign finance laws, I couldn’t say.  Any of them will send him to prison, and most of them 10+ years.

My two-cents’ worth: take your time, think this out, pull the trigger when you’re ready, and don’t miss.
