Arctic Heat Wave

It’s mid-May and temperatures near the Arctic Circle in Russia are about 40°F above normal.

Yesterday’s high in the town of Kolezma hit 91°, bizarre but to be expected, given that the Arctic is warming more than twice as fast as the rest of the globe.

The woman shown at left doesn’t appear to be too happy, but her distress is just a microcosm of what’s happening in most places around the globe.
