What’s “Normality,” And When Will We Have It?

We often hear discussion on normality.  When will we have it?  Will things ever be the same?  If not, is that necessarily a bad thing?

Cynics see what’s happening in the U.S. vis-à-vis the loud minority of anti-vaxxers and infer that this itself is the new normal.  They warn us to get used to living among hoards of ignorant and selfish people whose actions in this case may extend the pandemic for many years.

Optimists correctly observe that the majority of people have the intelligence and compassion required to do the right thing.

In any case, my hat’s off to the wizard who created the meme here.  The only thing of note that will happen in August is that the month will pass without the reinstatement of a former president.
