Legitimate Political Discourse

As George Carlin noted in the video below, we tend to use language that separates us from the punishing blows of harsh realities, and as time  passes, our use of euphemisms grows ever more intense.

But it was only recently that this phenomenon reached the level of total absurdity, as shown at left.

Russians have never known democracy, and thus may not find anything strange about what they’re being told at this point in world history.  Americans, on the other hand, have no excuse.
