Synthetic Fuels
The claim made at left is total BS. It’s not that synthetic fuels aren’t possible, rather that:
1) The concentration of CO2 in our atmosphere is about 400 PPM, or about 0.04%, meaning that the other 99.96% is something else (mostly nitrogen). For this idea to have any merit, it needs point sources of CO2, e.g., coal plants or concrete manufacturing facilities, where concentrations are north of 30%.
2) The chemical reactions required for this concept are hugely endothermic, meaning that they need enormous quantities of energy; a solar panel is a million miles away from getting the job done.
