The Constantly Shifting Dynamics between Science and Religion

What the current pope is doing is proof that there are many options available to religious people with respect to science.

Some interpret the book of Genesis and its verse: “Only God can destroy the Earth” to mean that humankind has no business concerning itself with things like climate change (or nuclear weapons non-proliferation).

What the pope seems to be saying is that God was good enough to create the paradise called Earth; the least we can do is to use the knowledge we’ve gained to take care of it.
