The U.S. Is “Destroying World Order.” Doesn’t that Make You Proud to be an American?

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has strongly criticized the U.S. foreign policy under President Donald Trump and urged the world not to let the world order disintegrate into a “den of robbers” where the unscrupulous take what they want.

OK, but is the United States destroying “world order?” Only if you believe that

• Leading a country into waging an aggressive war constitutes a war crime, punishable by life in prison. If Serbia’s Slobodan Milosevic hadn’t died of a heart attack, that is almost certainly where he would have died some years later.

• The property of sovereign countries, e.g., Venezuelan oil, shouldn’t be stolen by a country with a stronger military.

• Stealing other nations’ property encourages China to take over Taiwan and Russia to polish off Ukraine. God only knows what’s next.

If you actually believe that Trump has brought back respect to the United States from countries around the world, you are a true idiot.
