Stupid Is as Stupid Does

It’s no secret that we Americans are capable of enormous stupidity, but here’s one I didn’t see coming.

Suppose:

You’re a high-ranking Republican senator who’s been working for decades to block the passage of common sense gun laws.

You see that the mass shooting of our schoolchildren has the vast majority of Americans livid with rage at the lawmakers who are single-handedly responsible for the carnage.

You decide to hold a town hall meeting, expecting a calm and mellow scene.

Now, that’s stupid.
