Trump and the Price of Gasoline

In a recent message to America, Donald Trump boasted how dramatically gas prices have fallen, pointing out that the national average price has now fallen under the $2.00 per gallon mark.

As anyone could have guessed, this is a lie; the average is now $3.165.

But what makes this noteworthy is that it took me less than a minute to find the website linked above to determine the truth.  And there is nothing special about my computer/Internet skills; this is something anyone age 6 to 96 could have done with equal speed.  So why does Trump lie about things that the average first grader can disprove as fast as they can read the title of “Run Spot Run?”

All I can suggest is that his base accepts what he says, knowing full well that almost everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie.  Truth has long since lost all value and relevance.
