Keeping Us Stupid

At this point, no one knows the ultimate fate of American institutions like National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting System (PBS).

To be fair, we can only speculate as to the reason that they’re under attack by the Trump administration.  One idea is that they both represent learning, which isn’t well regarded in a political world that is aggressively trying to shut down the Department of Education.

They want no more public support than is absolutely necessary for music, the arts, teaching our kids to read, an appreciation for travel and other cultures, and the understanding of our nation’s own history.

The less we know, the better off they will be.
