The comments on the meme here seem to miss the point: it’s crap.

The world’s oceans contain 97% of the planet’s water (321 million cubic miles), and enormous lakes, e.g., the Caspian and Black Seas and North America’s Great Lakes, constitute almost all the rest.

The water we’ve impounded with our dams is about 2000 cubic miles.

You are not shifting the Earth’s axis when you drain your swimming pool or fill your bathtub.
