Japan Does Not Have an Issue with Homelessness

Look, if you’re going to make up complete bullshit about the science of dealing with homelessness, don’t pick Japan, as they have the lowest homelessness rate in the world at 0.003%, which is approximately 1 homeless person out of every 34,000 citizens, according to a 2022 study by the UK’s Greater Change Foundation which measures homelessness globally.

If you want to make your point, chose the U.S., where homelessness has increased from 1.75 per 1,000 people in 2022 to 2.3 per 1,000 people in 2024, a 30 percent increase, and about 77 times Japan’s rate. Of course, our government doesn’t care any more about caring for our homeless population that it does about rounding up lost canaries.
