Why So Little Mayhem?

What amazes me is that there are so few killings associated with these gross violations of the 4th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.  As I was explaining to some friends on a Zoom call recently, imagine this scenario:

A knock on my front door.  My wife opens it, and a guy in a ski mask with a gun drawn says that he’s here to take Craig Shields into custody.  My wife asks if he has a warrant, and he says no.  I hear this conversation from my home office.  I have a loaded shotgun in my closet (which I don’t).

Under these circumstances, I would slither down the hallway with my gun, swing around to the front door, and put a hole in the guy’s chest the size of a grapefruit.

The ostensible reason for our Second Amendment is to protect our citizenry from an abusive government.

I seriously do not understand how deaths like this hypothetical one aren’t happening all around this (formerly great) country.
