Is Rex Tillerson Actually a Decent Human Being?

You know it’s a wild time when improbable events happen simultaneously, since the probability of any two events’ happening together is the arithmetic product of the events’ respective probabilities.

Had you asked me two years what odds I would offer to someone who wanted to bet that in December 2017 Donald Trump could be the U.S. president and that I, Craig Shields, would have some level of respect for Rex Tillerson, I would have said to myself, “Well, they’re both at least 100:1, so I guess I’ll say 10,000:1.” Sure am glad that bet scenario didn’t happen.

Yes, with his suggesting a meeting with North Korea without preconditions, Rex Tillerson is behaving like an extremely rational and decent person.  Of course, I have to suspect that he’s working hard to promote oil and gas around the globe, but he sure appears to be trying his level best to stave off the next Korean War.

Just when you thought you’d seen it all.
