Brazil’s Bolsonaro Faces Criminal Investigation, Possible Impeachment Over COVID Response

From the PBS News Hour: Brazil formalized a criminal investigation last week into President Jair Bolsonaro’s response to the pandemic. It could lead to his impeachment. The country just passed 400,000 total fatalities so far, with no significant slowdown in sight.

Humankind doesn’t seem to be learning that would-be fascists have one thing in common: a total indifference to the suffering of others.  Here in the U.S., as our death toll approaches 600,000, we learned not too long ago our Bolsonaro, Donald Trump, ruining America’s pandemic with a mixture of lies, incompetence, and revenge against political enemies, all summed up in the phrase “criminal negligence.”

On the other side of the globe, look at the example set by New Zealand.  Compassionate but aggressive leadership, and, as one could expect, full cooperation of the citizenry, have enabled the Kiwis to beat COVID-19 into a pulp.

This really isn’t rocket science, folks.  Mean, selfish, dishonest pigs make terrible leaders.  People of decency and integrity are good to have at the helm.  Again, it’s not brain surgery.
