Nonsense from the U.S. Senate

The concept of law and order in American politics emerged in the late 1960’s when protests against the war in Vietnam, which were occasionally violent, drew the participation of the common American.  Richard Nixon was elected in 1968, running on the “law and order” platform, which conservatives found quite appealing.

Of course, that was half a century ago, when things generally still made sense.

As economist Robert Reich points out here, it’s utter madness that the same people who desperately tried to overturn the election results are suggesting that they have any sincere appreciation for the legitimacy of the law.
