Does anybody have even a conceivable explanation for this? Obviously, Trump wants to be the news, every minute of every day, but isn’t this lunacy beyond description? He’s in a class by himself when it comes to pandering to undereducated white Americans by inflicting horrible pain on large groups of innocent people, but who in blazes wants to see our troops punished? For a great while it appeared that Trump’s approval rating would remain at ~40% regardless of how unhinged his behavior became, and that his supporters would be steadfast in their loyalty, whether it was based on his military and economic aggression, handouts to billionaire donors, denial of science, promises of more jobs in coal, cruelty to children, or simple, glaring racism. But what to say now that we’ve seen recent slippage down to 36%? That’s not statistically insignificant. (more…)
