I’m reminded of this as the petroleum age is said to have begun 116 years ago today when an oil gusher erupted at Spindletop, just outside Beaumont, Texas.  Coincidentally, it’s also the day in history (49 BCE) when Caesar crossed the Rubicon.   (more…)

Plight of Coal, US Department of Agriculture, coal mining, Trump Administration will be taking the environment, health and safety of the 7.4 billion people on this planet, for each new coal worker, several oil and gas people will lose their jobs, and this will happen primarily in states that voted Republican, Coal is on its way out, indifference to one another’s well-being Effective February 17, 2017, The Forest Service, part of the US Department of Agriculture, has reversed its initial ruling and will permit, once again, coal mining in the North Fork region of approximately 4.2 million acres of land located within the State of Colorado in Roadless Areas on National Forest System (NFS) lands. Some Investors May Be Skeptical of Solar—But Not For Long

I had a meeting in New York City last year with a fellow alumnus of Trinity College (pictured).  The guy had just sold his real estate development company for a mere $5.4 billion (with a “b”), so I thought that was worth a walk crosstown from my previous appointment to spend a few minutes with him.  Of course, I hoped to present a few of my clean energy investment opportunities, and I did just that, but I noticed visibly skeptical body-language coming from my friend.    (more…)

American Patriots Need To Take ActionHere’s a point I’ve made dozens of times: The U.S. is in the process of blowing its opportunity to participate in the $50 trillion clean energy revolution, simply because of its love affair with fossil fuels–or at least with the money and political clout associated with the fossil fuel industry.

The single most patriotic thing that people who love America can do is to push their country away from dirty, 20th Century energy into clean, 21st Century energy, creating jobs and growing our economy.
