Understanding the Compassion We Have for StrangersHere’s a video that’s doing very well on Facebook—and for a good reason: it’s a reminder of how selfless and generous people can be with perfect strangers in the time of a crisis (in this case, 9/11).  I hope you’ll check it out; it’s inspirational.

Obama Not Backing Down on Environmental ProgressTo facilitate North America’s coming together to clean up its electricity grid, President Obama is about to announce the partnership that the U.S. is making with Canada and Mexico.  The goal: 50% clean energy by 2025, facilitated by transmitting large amounts of power between the three countries as required to maximize the penetration of renewable energy.

Dealing with the Externalities of Our Major IndustriesA reader commented on my post In Choosing Among Various Approaches to Energy, Politics Is a Very Big Deal that I support political action involving an ideological/moral campaign to prevent the eating of red meat.
