The statement at left is interesting, isn’t it?

Even the best, most liberal-minded private K – 12 institutions have required courses that ensure that graduates have a certain level of proficiency in reading, writing, math, history, and the sciences regardless of the pupil’s interest in those subjects.

There are kids graduating from our local high school who can’t tell you where Wisconsin is or what language they speak there.  I don’t think anyone is OK with that.

On the other hand, a kid whose interests are origami or auto repair need to be supported as well.  It’s not a black and white issue.

If you accept the claim here, you believe that these people raised enough money from investors to go into production with their low-speed EV (LSEV — top speed in the U.S. 25 MPH).
Perfect for people who don’t leave their driveways, or, if they’re very patient folks with lots of time on their hands, their neighborhoods.
When I came into this field in 2008, the transportation world (for some reason) had high hopes for LSEVs.  But 16 years and dozens of market failures later, those hopes have long since been dashed.

I’d like to believe the meme at left, but there is no reason to expect some wild swing in 2024.

From Pew Research:

(In the 2020 election, in comparison with 2016) Biden made gains with men, while Trump improved among women, narrowing the gender gap. The gender gap in the 2020 election was narrower than it had been in 2016, both because of gains that Biden made among men and because of gains Trump made among women. In 2020, men were almost evenly divided between Trump and Biden, unlike in 2016 when Trump won men by 11 points. Trump won a slightly larger share of women’s votes in 2020 than in 2016 (44% vs. 39%), while Biden’s share among women was nearly identical to Clinton’s (55% vs. 54%).

How any self-respecting woman can vote for a sex criminal and women’s rights opponent is unclear to me, but this is certainly not a cut and dried issue.

Obviously, there are biker bars, ammo shops and the like that cater to Trump supporters, but this looks like a resort.

Just where is it?  I sure want to vacation with intellectuals like these two.

FWIW, I don’t believe that the people making a big deal about Critical Race Theory intend to bring slavery back to the United States.  My position is that CRT is simply a device that is effective in making stupid people angry.  And guess what?  No anger equals huge losses for the Republicans.

Show me a Trump supporter who isn’t angry about (pick one–or all): the border/immigration, abortion, wokeism, government handouts, Biden’s position (on anything), the “weaponing of the justice system” against Trump, the stolen election, the “liberal media,” Hunter’s laptop and the Biden crime family, etc.

From the November Coalition:

Donald Trump says he thinks Americans like it when he says he’s willing to suspend the Constitution. The comment appears in a just-published Time Magazine interview on what a second Trump presidency would look like. In the interview, Trump says he will launch a deportation campaign impacting millions of immigrants on day one. And, he is willing to use the U.S. military to do it. He reasons that he is not bound by the Posse Comitatus Act, the law that traditionally restricts the use of military force against civilians, because “they’re not civilians.”
The interview is filled with Trump’s threats, promises, and lies covering deportations, criminal justice, and potential violence if he loses the next election. It’s a chilling reminder that only four of the 44 cabinet members who served in Trump’s White House have endorsed him. How can we not heed the warnings of the people closest to Trump?

The main problem Trump faces in Minnesota is The Twin Cities, population 2.99 million out of the total 5.72 million.  These are educated, sophisticated people, most of whom recognize Trump as the criminal conman he is.

The illustration here calls to mind the benefit of being 93 million miles from our nearest star–neither too close nor too far to support life.

That distance also supports solar energy; we receive 6000 times more power from the sun than all eight billion of us are using.

At left is the rationale for thinking of ourselves as “citizens of the world.”

To be proud that I, by virtue of absolutely nothing I have done, hail from a certain country that I believe to be superior to the other 205 sovereign nations on Earth, is stupidity at its finest.

Especially when the country in question has by far the strongest military power of the globe, extreme levels of patriotism result in serious problems on a global scale.
