A reader sent me this simple key to happiness.  Here are alternatives, off the top of my head.  You can:

Choose whatever religion you want, including none at all, and

Make an effort to understand what’s happening in the world, so that you can get involved in making it a better place to live.

Sue gets up at 6 a.m. and fills her coffeepot with water to prepare her morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards.
With her first swallow of coffee, she takes her daily medication. Her medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to insure their safety and that they work as advertised.

Interesting perspective.

At this point, it’s clear that there is no limit to the loss of our children that will motivate Congress to pass even the mildest and most obvious gun legislation.

Funny.

But seriously, this goes back to the theory that demand creates its own supply.  There is a huge demand for pro-Trump idiocy.  All that’s happening is a continuing supply of lies to feed these people which they so desperately crave.

The sad part of all this is that it doesn’t matter how harmful the product in demand may be.  It could be heroin, assault rifles sold at Walmart, child labor, sexual slavery, websites promoting white supremacy, or ineffective/dangerous COVID-19 cures.  If it’s in demand, there will be a rise in supply.

Oklahoma should cut its educational programs like a starving man needs to go on a diet.

It’s already among the states in which Trump did best; it’s hard to imagine why these people need to become even more ignorant.

Coincidentally, on the same page is the story about building two new prisons.  Oklahoma is going to need a place to house all these unemployable people, many of whom will turn to crime in order to survive.

A reader sent me the meme here.  Apparently he thinks that ignoring our terrible past and our completely unacceptable present will produce a fabulous future, free of racism.

Are there any other problems that evaporate by ignoring them?  Tooth decay?  Poverty?  Crime?  Environmental collapse?

This doesn’t appear too sharp.

Doesn’t this seem a bit extreme?  “They” don’t teach you how to grow vegetables because they want you dependent on …… the grocery store?

Many thousands of years ago, humankind noticed that not everyone had the capacity to produce everything.  Long before there was currency (which began around 600 BCE) people were bartering eggs for apples, bread for milk.

Does it seem real that the governments of ancient Mesopotamia or Phoenicia had an issue with this and wanted people dependent on them?

Anyone who wants to grow his own food is at liberty to do so, and anyone who wants to hone his skill can YouTube it until the cows come home.

A reader sent me this video in which disgraced retired general Michael Flynn talks about the stolen election.  I respond:

Flynn says ,”The truth always comes out.”

Don’t you find it even a little bit ironic that Flynn pleaded guilty to “willfully and knowingly” making “false, fictitious and fraudulent statements” to the FBI regarding conversations with Russia’s ambassador? Trump himself fired Flynn for lying.

Sorry, but I find this hilarious.  If you guys are looking for the truth, I would suggest you look elsewhere.

A reader sent me the chart here, noting that Facebook had labelled it “false information.” He adds, “I guess they don’t like the fact that people are indeed surviving COVID.”
I respond:  I think the reason that FB called this false is simply that it is indeed false. The U.S. has ~804K deaths out of a population of ~330 million, meaning that 99.76% haven’t died.
Not that this is critical, but the author doesn’t know how to spell “Johns Hopkins,” not a good sign.
The author also believes that “Google” is a source of information. Not too swift.

Throughout U.S. history, many career politicians at the federal level have proved to have terrible moral character.  Lots of wife-beating, tons of DUIs.  Ted Kennedy, who clearly committed manslaughter.

That said, as shown below, you’re going to have a hell of a hard time finding anyone slimier than Lauren Boebert.
