Renewable energy superstar Robert Rapier: I know a year ago there were some big Ron DeSantis fans here. They really liked how he was handling the pandemic, and they pointed to the modest case and death numbers as proof that what he was doing was working. Heck, National Review even wrote an article (that hasn’t aged very well) ‘Where Does Ron DeSantis Go to Get His Apology?’ Anyway, here’s what Florida looks like right now.
Question: On January 6th, then U.S. Vice President Mike Pence refused to do then-President Trump’s bidding, and certified Joe Biden as America’s 46th chief executive. He did that because 60+ courts had rejected Trump’s law suits since there wasn’t a shred of evidence that the election was in any way fraudulent. For that, he is regarded as a traitor by Trump’s most loyal base. As such, many of them are calling for him to be hanged.
Can you guess: In what state was this photo taken?
As suggested here, political debates are tough enough without the entrance of religion into the mix. Once “God’s plan” comes on the scene, a difficult discussion suddenly becomes impossible.
Here’s a parent who relies on his own “research” to supersede doctors on matters of health. If that’s not terrifying, it’s hard to know what is.
Imagine:
My child has been vomiting relentlessly for 24 hours. He’s so weak and feeble that he can’t get out of bed. Sure, I could consult someone who, after his pre-med curriculum as an undergraduate, went through medical school and then completed an internship and a residency. On the other hand, I could watch a couple of YouTube videos, which would make me far more qualified to understand the medical issue and treat my kid.
We often come across memes like the one here, ridiculing our educational system, claiming it has no value, or even a negative effect on the individual and on society as a whole.
One thing I notice, however: well educated people don’t send me stuff like this. It tends to come from tradespeople, e.g., plumbers and gardeners. Now, I need to add immediately that I have nothing whatsoever against uneducated people; all jobs are valuable and so are those who perform them. But we need to observe that people who trim our rosebushes and unstop our sinks have no need for higher education. (more…)
Precisely to whom does Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) appeal to at this point? Publicly a supporter of Trump and the Big Lie, he explained to a lady he mistakenly took for a believer in the stolen election that there is no evidence of voter fraud, and that Trump lost the Wisconsin election because 51,000 Republicans didn’t vote for him. All this is on tape for the world to hear.
So again, what makes this pathetic liar attractive to anyone?
There was a time when Texas was a respectable state. Sure, it’s always been the death penalty capital of the world, and it’s a place where you can legally drive with a beer in one hand and a gun in the other, steering with your knees. Yet it was admired for its numerous universities, live music and robust economy.
Now it’s impossible to think of Texas without conjuring images of hospitals packed to the gills with people on ventilators, and people collecting $10K rewards for ratting out anyone who mentions the word “abortion” to a pregnant woman.
It’s joined states like Alabama as a place you simply want to stay away from.
Here’s yet another sad reminder of where we are as a country, and how degraded we’ve become. It was just 58 years ago that John F. Kennedy composed these words, representing the tenor of the United States of America as it existed at the time.
Perhaps the most astonishing thing about this is the idea that we perceive (or perceived) that we have a duty to all mankind, i.e., by demonstrating that it’s possible for the individual citizen to govern himself with honor and fairness.
Two main things are different now. First, very few Americans could care less about the welfare of people in other countries. Second, and even more important, there is precious little honor and fairness in government. In 2016, we elected one of the most blatantly dishonest people in the entirety of U.S. history, and tens of millions of us still support him.
How clever this is. And how sad it is that all this is so totally on point.
Obviously, there is nothing illegal about what this fraud is doing. The First Amendment protects both his free speech and exercise of religion.
It’s just another example of how demand creates its own supply. American society is chock full of ignorance, and thus there are millions of people who can’t get enough of Osteen and his fellow conmen.
Have you ever had your delivery missed at night? We know we have!
It can be quite annoying when your delivery drivers or guests drive by your house at night and then complain about how hard it is to find you. It can be frustrating and might double the time it takes to get to your home or business.
With THE SOLAR SIGN you’ll never have to worry about someone important not reaching you at a critical time.
How many deliveries are made at night?
This was a stupid idea even before we had navigation on our cell phones. Now it’s ludicrous.
The only good thing to say about it is that it provides me an opportunity to re-emphasize the importance of refusing to buy useless stuff.
