Here at 2GreenEnergy, we spend a fair amount of time analyzing human civilization with an eye toward determining whether or not it’s making progress in the right direction.

Sometimes, words are unnecessary; the thing simply speaks for itself.

There is no path to sustainability that includes the mistreatment of women.

For all the stupidity and barbarity in the world, there are some positive developments, like the movement to plant-based meat.  Tons of amazing new products, gaining market share on a daily basis.

Let that sink in as you watch this one-minute video, which will most certainly put a smile on your face.

It’s easy to be frustrated with the feeble pace by which the United States is putting its house back into order in the months following the ouster of the Trump administration.   Yet we all need to keep in mind how rapidly this whole thing could turn around and the entire ordeal at an end.

What happens when a few key indictments are handed down? (more…)

My experience with tourism is limited to visits to 21 other countries, mostly on business, lots of family vacations through the years, and meeting the considerable flood of tourists who come here (Santa Barbara County), largely to taste wine.

Yet I’d bet that even those that are 10 times more traveled than I am, or those who live in destination meccas like Paris or Venice, have never seen tourists who build gallows and tie nooses to them.  It’s peculiar behavior, as I think anyone would have to admit.

The same body (The U.S. Congress) who conducted eight separate investigations into Benghazi over the course of 15 months, including 11 hours of testimony from the person most directly involved (and found no evidence of wrongdoing) are now refusing to permit a single congressional investigation into the riots of January 6th.

It’s never occurred to me until I read the letter below how patently disrespectful this is to the U.S. Capitol Police.

I have to admit that the photo to the left is both funny and illustrative of a certain way of looking at COVID restrictions.

The one I made below is not funny at all, but it is certainly another way of viewing the subject.

I’ve heard lots of people say that political correctness is equivalent to shutting down free speech, but I’ve never understood it.

Take the most offensive and least PC thing you can think of.  Maybe it’s the Proud Boys saying that the U.S. is a nation of, by, and for white people and that people of other races are not welcome here.  Can they openly make comments like this?

Of course! (more…)

It’s mid-May and temperatures near the Arctic Circle in Russia are about 40°F above normal.

Yesterday’s high in the town of Kolezma hit 91°, bizarre but to be expected, given that the Arctic is warming more than twice as fast as the rest of the globe.

The woman shown at left doesn’t appear to be too happy, but her distress is just a microcosm of what’s happening in most places around the globe.

I side with those who say we’re experiencing the end-game of unbridled capitalism.  Since the late 19th Century, we’ve seen a dwindling spiral of greed, moral decay, and poor education.  Each re-enforces the other two.

Countries that have free education and healthcare don’t have this plague.

When moral bankruptcy, selfishness, and ignorance dominate a society, the result is a forgone conclusion: that society will soon be led by a criminal sociopath, because voters are, at this point, too stupid to know the difference in the character of a person like Barack Obama and a conman like Donald Trump.
