Electric car market share hit a record high in Norway for the first half of the year as overall car sales have been hit by the pandemic but less so for electric vehicles. Norway has long been the world’s leading market when it comes to electric vehicles. Big City Pollution

A growing number of Americans are expressing their displeasure at their president, given Trump’s insensitivity to spate murders of black people at the hands of police, his gross mishandling of the pandemic, and his allowing Russia to maintain  bounties on the heads of American soldiers.  At this point, it appears that he’ll be leaving office in January if not before. Then what?  It doesn’t matter.

Removing Trump from office by any legal means shouldn’t scare anyone.  It’s not like he’s Saddam Hussein and this is Iraq with its Ba’athist Party, in an environment with sects of Muslims that have hated each other’s guts for 1400 years.  He’s a cancer in the United States, and no one worries too much about removing a tumor from an otherwise healthy body.

Worried about stock market volatility?  Don’t be.  Markets like rationality, reason, and predictability.  Trump affords the world precious little of any of that.

Concerned that it will take a long time before the majority of Americans has any respect for or trust in the Republican Party?  Well, that’s is indeed well-founded, but isn’t that a positive thing?  How much good do you think people like Mitch McConnell, William Barr, Jared Kushner, Steven Miller, Steve Bannon, Betsy DeVos, Ben Carson, and Wilbur Ross are doing for our country?

Personally, I don’t care if the GOP never recovers at all, but if it does, it certainly needs a wholesale rethinking of its values and its relationship with the people it ostensibly serves.

Americans who have good attitudes at this point in time deserve our respect.  I ran across this masterpiece this morning, written by the son of an Air Force brigadier general who himself rose to the rank of colonel. Here’s the beginning of a fairly lengthy essay that explains the author’s optimism as follows:

Of my 57 years drawing breath, I’ve spent 51 of them directly or indirectly serving this once great nation. So, as you might imagine, I found myself on Nov. 8, 2016, more than a little dismayed at the news we had elevated Donald J. During a brief press conference with reporters in the White House driveway, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani suggested the individual who leaked intelligence on the Russian bounties for U.S. and coalition soldiers in Afghanistan is a member of the Deep State and should go to jail for 25 years. He also criticizes the New York Times for publishing the story, saying they are just out to get President Trump. (more…)

From TerraScale: Even in the absence of state mandates, Arizona utilities are pushing to shift to clean energy by replacing coal plants with renewable energy backed batteries. Arizona’s biggest utility, Arizona Public Service announced its plan to achieve clean energy by 2050, despite a lack of state mandates requiring such a transition. I don’t want to “spread her shame.” I want her arrested, charged with brandishing a firearm, convicted, and sentenced to 3 – 6 months for the misdemeanor, as prescribed by law.

Btw, this could also be misdemeanor assault: “a threat of bodily harm coupled with an apparent, present ability to cause the harm.”

What’s the problem with putting these assh***s in jail, every one of them, and seeing what happens with the rate of this crime?

As Trump’s poll numbers continue to plummet and the odds against a second term continue to grow, the president will soon face the fact that he’ll no longer be in office as of January 20, 2021.  What happens when that idea settles in and he contemplates the onslaught of indictments he’ll receive from both federal and state criminal courts? Subsidiaries of both Talanx and Munich Re were named on Trans Mountain’s certificate of insurance – they are among 11 companies offering $508 million of liability insurance for the 12-month period up to August 31, 2020. However, emails suggest that Talanx actually pulled out of the project in 2019 (and it appears Munich Re has done the same). (more…)
