No one needs to tell me that this doesn’t matter to the impeachment process, but it’s indicative of the animus against the president.  It’s also a reminder of the unfairness of the electoral college.

In the last 12 months, I’ve found myself rooting for Mr. FBI, Robert Mueller and John “Bombs Away” Bolton–and now I have to admit I’m impressed by Mitt Romney’s bravery.

Next week, maybe we’ll have Rush Limbaugh coming forward with evidence on some aspect of Trump’s criminal behavior.  Nothing is too strange.

As suggested here, it’s still possible to find climate deniers with PhDs after their names. There aren’t many, but they still do exist.  Patrick Moore, for instance, was interviewed last year on Fox and Friends and said, “The whole climate crisis is not only fake news, it’s fake science.” Moore’s Twitter bio says “CelebrateCO2!” (more…)

As far as I’m concerned, the Trump administration has been the only “house on fire” incident in U.S. politics.  Yes, it could be argued that Jackson was a butcher, that Harding and Nixon were criminals, that Bush 43 was a moron, or anything else you please.  But now the man in the oval office is a pathological liar who criminally abuses his power for his own gain, a man in comparison to whom any of these grotesque figures from previous administrations would be considered saints.

There is a majority of Americans, albeit a slim one, who want to see Trump removed.  They now realize that it’s not going to happen, and they’re most unhappy.

Over the last 40 years, legendary primatologist and anthropologist Jane Goodall has won just shy of 50 of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a scientist.  It is at least in part for this reason that the world community regards her viewpoints with the utmost of respect.

Here’s a short video in which she presents a high-level view of the shocking ecological damage that has resulted from the Trump presidency.  This is nothing short of disgusting.

Here’s an article, written in Spanish, that discusses wine-making and how it can be made more sustainable with the use of renewable energy.

With all the vineyards around here, it’s hard not to learn a little bit about the wineries and the processes they employ, but the central premise of the article is debatable. (more…)

I wrote a post last week in attempt to answer this question, in which I suggested that it’s simple supply and demand.  Anywhere there is a demand for contra-scientific thinking, there will be charlatans popping up like mushrooms to supply that demand.

When my wife read the post she voiced her surprise that I didn’t mention corruption, i.e., enormous and dishonest control that Big Oil exerts on the Republican Party.  She made a great point. (more…)

My colleague Jon LeSage serves as Editor and Publisher of Green Auto Market, which tracks the business of green cars, fuels, and technologies.  As shown in the bar chart below, pure diesel buses now account for less than half of the total market, and, if the trend holds, will experience zero sales somewhere around 2030.
