22 Clean Energy Business Plans for Your Consideration

The list of clean energy business plans I support has reached 22 items in length – an all-time record.  Each of these, in my estimation, represents a real breakthrough that clearly has the potential to make a huge impact on the world energy scene.  In particular, each carries with it a central question, the answer to which, I believe, is yes.  For instance:

• Can microwind (anything under 5 kilowatts) prove cost-effective and reliable?

• Can a cost-related breakthrough in concentrated solar power turn the tide for this often-denigrated technology?

• Will a new approach in zinc-air batteries change the value proposition in electric transportation?  Utility scale energy storage?

• Will ocean thermal prove to be an effective way to bring power to the one billion people living in the tropics?

• Can ocean current work effectively in places near the Gulf Stream, the Mozambique Current, etc?

• Will synthetic fuels prove to be workable in making use of off-peak energy?

• Has someone finally “cracked the code” with respect to waste-to-energy pyrolysis and gasification?

Again, the reason that these concepts are on the list is that I firmly believe in the efficacy of each.  Now, is it possible that I’m wrong?  Of course.  Do investors need to conduct their own due diligence? Absolutely.

But I’ll bet you know someone who wants a shot at changing the energy game, profiting greatly by helping the world migrate away from fossil fuels.  Further, I’ll bet that this “someone” will appreciate the work that I’ve done in reviewing well over 1000 concepts to arrive at these 22.  If that’s the case, I hope you’ll let me know.

  1. I have been working on a Wet waste to Energy concept. You can hear the description in this pitch video that I submitted for the Green Challenge http://youtu.be/XqfHNUZcBmA. It may be too early for any investment but your support is needed in getting grant to enable us to make this concept comes alive to help make the world a better place. Thank you.

    • Craig Shields says:

I’m all for making the world a better place to live. But I understand the basics of physics, and, through force of duty, I need to point out that this idea has no basis in science whatsoever.

It’s funny how things come in clumps. This is the third piece of “anti-science” I’ve seen this very day. And this is actually more credible than the other two!

My hat’s off to the guy from Texas who pitched his “energy from magnets” idea (probably the 53rd one I’ve seen) over my first cup of coffee this morning. He only needed a few hundred thousand dollars to perfect his idea, and he leaned on me hard. But he backed down fast when I told him that, if he tries to raise money from investors, at least in the US, there’s a very good chance he’s going to go to prison for a very long time.

Tan, you shouldn’t be trying to sell this stuff anywhere, but assuredly not here.

      • Stephan W says:

Craig – can you step through exactly why Tan’s process doesn’t work? Perhaps a succinct explanation here and on YouTube will help people understand the underlying issues with these inventions.

        • Craig Shields says:

The whole thing is pseudo-scientific gibberish. If you Google “HHO scam” you’ll see it instantly.

          • Craig, do you mean people who tried but failed in using HHO gas to propel cars reliably or the HHO gas itself is a scam? The HHO gas for sure is real. It is used for metal cutting and welding. I had bought 2 units which can cut 70 mm thick metal although the manufacturer specification is 50mm. The problem is when this HHO gas is used for propelling cars, all those who tried didn’t show good result because the existing ICE is not designed for this gas.

If you hear my message carefully in the video, I am using a different approach to get HHO gas to deliver its energy effectiviely. I am not asking for investment but grant that are available to try and make it possible.

          • Roy Wagner says:

Thermodynamics 1st and 2nd laws basically states you cannot get more out than you put in.
To break the bonds in a water molecule to make HHO takes more thermal energy than can be obtained by burning it.
Yes you can burn water they do this in coke plants and smelters water injected over a bed of coals at 5,000 degrees centigrade ignites as the water evaporates and gases separate.
A car engine flows several hundred cubic ft of air a minute to provide enough HHO to do this without gasoline would require an electrical generator bigger than the engine.

          • Roy, there is something more in HHO which we don’t really understand yet. Just like fire, early people didn’ t know the science involved, but they enjoyed the benefits. How do we explain the explosion effect of water and heat together in my second video which shows the demo by Mythbusters.

  2. Dennis Miles says:

Can a cost-related breakthrough in concentrated solar power turn the tide for this often-denigrated technology?

I can get two times the electric power from a standard “Plain Jane” solar panel, simply add a pair of “Barn Doors” or flat plate reflectors that reflect extra light into the solar panel.

The use of flat plate reflectors can increase electrical power output by two to three times without reflectors.
Why are reflectors never used? (Not enough profit in them.

  3. Ron Robinson says:

As I understand it the “plain Jane” colectors aren’t designed to take the intensified heat produced with reflectors.
I’m thinking bulk storage for off peak wind and solar would be another big step.

  4. Sierra Energy has a very interesting approach for waste to syncrude. Here is a link:

  5. C.K.PHILIP JOSEPHS SWAMY says:

Dearest Craig Shields I can’t hate you nor love you but when I think of you you work hard the returns may be good but at the end winners are those likes of Mar Zuckerburg GOOGLE If facebook created billions $ to the creator thats nonsence but the truth is it deserves no place of this times of economic going nowhere towards humans well being this because the consumers alike analyst experts have nothing to do but write and talk about those successful business .What is required now INNOVATION,INNOVATION THAT SHOULD BE CHEAPER.

You know once I asked you to represent me to BLACKSTONE PE COMPANY AS IT DEALED IN REAL ESTATE,AND MOBILE TOWER IN INDIA FOR YOUR INFO.

You came on board and vanished why?

I don’t know I got my consultant if you desire so to join you are most welcome
    Best regards
    CK

  6. See my other posts what is the profit margin for taking $45.00USDof energy and materials and producing a product Like Ruthenium with a value of $550.00USD.

Can I make money do this?

    Matthew Kramer
American Chemical Society, Alernative energy and Fuels
    ASTM, D03 Gaseous Fuels
    Alchemist

see I have this way to make NEUTRONS real cheap.
Oh the end product is not radioactive it the stable isotope.
