Setting Stratospheric Records in Wind Power

Setting Stratospheric Records in Wind PowerThe main reason to be “Bullish on Renewable Energy (as the saying goes) is that to a large degree, its expansion is independent of politics.  According to Reuters, for a brief period last Sunday, the U.S. powered a full 50% of its grid with wind power alone.  Five short years ago, grid operators would have said that such a feat was impossible.

Things are changing very quickly in the energy industry, just as they are on the political landscape.  What an exciting time to be alive.

Amen Craig it is exciting –

I remember fondly getting a trip to Clayton NM in the late 1970’s and watching the DOE erect a test wind tower and old turbine.

Talk about Model T technology now those Eastern Plains of NM where the wind blows real well some 35 to 40 % capacity factors . It took 37 or so years and now it is Accelerating and Scaling bigger in size .

I was in wonderment at the time and had no real idea just how far these wind test experiments would go and Evolve into a serious source of power globally now.

And thanks to Craig Vision we have a nice and interesting place to go and share perspectives etc.

Cool payoff after 37 years or so !
