Most Congressional Climate Skeptics Simply Haven’t Come Out of the Closet

Koch-CatoHere’s a request I received from 350.org, asking me to “Tell Congress that climate change made Hurricane Irma worse.”

I complied, as I always do, but I seriously doubt there are more than a handful of true climate deniers in Congress; I think most of these people know climate change is real, regardless of what they say publicly.  There are perhaps 100 who claim to be climate deniers, because they’re elected in states whose voters are generally uneducated people and/or Fox News devotees.  When you add in where their campaign contributions come from, e.g., Koch Industries, these people would tell you the moon is made of green cheese if that were required to get them re-elected.

To believe otherwise is to attribute some sort of integrity and moral courage to people who obviously have none.

    Craig,

To quote a famous American, “there y’ go again ” !

Why do you feel it necessary to relegate anyone who dissents or questions your particular chosen orthodoxy as lacking “integrity and moral courage” ?

As 350.org, are finding, the general public have grown weary of hectoring extremists endlessly yelling increasingly absurd propaganda.

When will you learn this type of advocacy only serves to distract from more moderate, but more credible environmental progress ?
