How Would-be Inventors Lose Credibility

087714355abd168784a9d399358f60baHere’s an email I just received from a Greek citizen now living in China, who writes: After 15 years of scientific research I completed the construction of a wind turbine model with an extremely high efficiency and operation at very low wind speeds.  I’m looking for an investor who can start production. Please visit my website to see the technical characteristics of the wind turbine (…..which include its power rating at 5 m/s windspeed; 120 KVA/day).

Among other challenges I have with this is my pet peeve with ostensible scientists who don’t know the difference between energy and power, or who don’t know the units that are used to quantify these things.  To say you’re generating “120 KVA/day” is the equivalent to saying you’re driving at a speed of “120 miles per hour per day.”

Construction of a wind turbine model is a good project, but we also need to evaluate with exact data instead of some general plan.
