The Watershed that Is the Trump Phenomenon

Regardless of what happens to this civilization, it’s quite likely that the Trump phenomenon, as described so eloquently at the left, will very likely be regarded as a watershed moment.  We will either turn this around, or we won’t.  We’ll either find a way to conquer the hate, the bigotry and the mass hysteria, or we will descend into a societal abyss.

I have no idea what life on Earth will be life 50 years hence, but, if we still have an organized human civilization, we will look back on this time with a blend of incredulity and gratitude: disbelief that it happened in the first place, and thanks for those who allowed reason and compassion to prevail.
