Free Webinar: The World Energy Crisis and Its Potential Solutions

Free Webinar: The World Energy Crisis and Its Potential Solutions

I’m really excited about our free webinar this month at 2GreenEnergy. At 1 PM EDT next Wednesday, May 18th, I’ll be interviewing senior physicist Dr. David Doty, who brings together quite a few key attributes into one package:

  • Extra-ordinarily deep understanding of the world energy scene and economic realities that put limits on potential answers
  • Great communication skills – can explain all this in a way that doesn’t make people’s eyes glaze over
  • Doesn’t leave the audience suicidal with pessimism – actually presents a credible solution

But exactly how credible is it? And how solid are his assumptions? That’s where I come in. I like to think I’ve learned a couple of things in the past few years, through the course of interviewing some of the top scientists and economists on the planet. I’m more than ready for a challenging and interesting conversation.

Some of us have our “pet” technologies. Others believe that the world will need a huge range of solutions if we’re to migrate away from fossil fuels and nuclear energy and find our way to an energy picture that is clean, safe, and affordable.

On May 18th, we’ll talk about the medium-term world energy picture — and the most probable scenarios for biomass, solar thermal, and a number of the other darlings that we believe can change the face of the energy industry over the next half-century.

As we all know, the question is cost. As a friend of mine likes to say: “There is plenty of clean energy. The question is: What are you willing to pay for it?” And the beauty of Dr. Doty’s approach is that it’s rooted in this very concept. An unaffordable solution is not really a solution at all, but an unwelcome distraction and a waste of time.

are the webinars available to watch/listen to at a later date? I’m quite interested in listening to Dr Doty’s interview but will be unavailable at that time.

Yes, they’re archived and available on the “Webinars” tab of the website.
