From Guest Blogger Mediaprizm: Hybrid Cars

Decades have passed since mankind discovered the power of four wheels and started manufacturing cars. Now it is more than luxury and has become a part of routine life just like other necessities. With the passage of time the fuel prices are observed to raise rapidly and drastically therefore the car manufacturing companies started to find alternative ways. They end up finding a solution which is manufacturing of Hybrid Cars.

The Hybrid cars not only ease the burden on buyer’s pocket, but it contributes positively in the environment as well. The mechanism of Hybrid Cars is quite simple it uses a combination of small-car engine and electric motor which assist the engine in efficient, optimized and amplifying performance. The powerful combination of gas and electric power brings a very smooth driving experience. Since there is less dependency on gasoline, there is cut down in fuel consumption and increase in mileage is observed.

The Hybrid Cars comprises of Regenerative braking, Periodic engine shut off, advanced aerodynamics, Low-rolling resistance (LLR) tires and Lightweight materials. Other power generating sources for Hybrid Cars are Rechargeable Energy System (RESS), battery as energy storage device, transmissions, electricity and electromagnetic fields, hydrogen, solar, wind, petrol or diesel, coal, wood and radio waves.

Though Hybrid cars are not very popular currently and they are quite expensive as compare to non-hybrid cars but the car manufacturing companies are working really hard to cut down prices and offer low cost Hybrid Cars in near future. This is planned for the sake of environment, less fuel consumption and hence to enjoy a less polluted life.

The conventional Internal Combustion Engine consumes more energy and fuel as compare to Hybrid engine. The Environmental protection Agency has set some standard for Hybrid Vehicles manufacturing and the best part about these cars is that they are below the recommended level of emissions.

A number of countries are busy in manufacturing advanced level, innovative, low cost, fuel efficient and excellent quality Hybrid Cars, the top two countries are USA and Japan. The durability, low cost, efficiency and reliability of Japanese Used Cars are marvelous. Therefore if one is planning to buy a Hybrid a better option is to go for Japanese makes rather than other regions. One plus point about Japanese Used Cars in the Hybrid Cars category is that even the freight cost is not too high as compare to its competitors around the globe.

For researchers and advanced readers or users – Those Hybrids still rely on instantaneous Torque generation methods to propel the vehicle with best of Engine and motor power and have defined a new era of Green Mobility along side the EVs; We are keenly awaiting Hybrid technologies incorporating newer methods of `Stored Torque Propulsion’ that can cut down on the Power requirements considerably by Storing the required Torque in advance (rather than on demand) and can be ultimately tested to produce range of Ultra Lean Hybrids with even smaller engines and better electric range, Dream EVs on the line of Mobile phones with Extended talk times of a few days, Possibility of Production Solar vehicles, Fuel Cell Trucks and eventually Life time powered vehicles. ..of Tony Stark (Iron Man)Dream.

Even now, the additional cost of hybrid cars can be economically justified when the annual number of miles driven in urban areas is high. However, they cannot be justified in low mileage situations or when driving is mostly on highways.

There is considerable room for improvement in hybrid car efficiency. In high current situations, such as in rapid acceleration or heavy braking, ultra capacitors are much more efficient than batteries. So, if ultra capacitors become cheap enough, hybrid cars could be made much more efficient by combining ultra capacitors with batteries.
