The Philippines — Grabbing Renewable Energy with Both Hands

Good things are happening in The Philippines.  According to this report, there are three different reasons that they’re outpacing China in terms of economic growth.  They’re also deeply committed to a diverse, eclectic renewable energy strategy.  Though it’s not mentioned in their website (linked above),  I happen to know that they’re looking at OTEC (ocean thermal energy conversion), a technology whose time has come, especially in tropical regions with warm oceans; the southernmost islands of The Philippines are only a few hundred miles north of the equator – a perfect fit.

And speaking of ocean thermal, I’ve supported this as a clean energy investment opportunity for some time.  And, good news, my friends at OTECorporation (of which I’m a proud shareholder) will soon be publicly traded.  I plan to do a great deal of marketing and public relations work for them, telling their story to a world hungry for workable solutions to the clean energy dilemma.
