Archon Energy Develops Run-of-River Hydro Projects

I wanted to write a short post to introduce a fellow I have known indirectly for a few years now: Paul Grist of Archon Energy, a developer of cutting-edge run-of-river hydro projects in California.  I know what you’re thinking: You want to get a permit to mess with flowing water in California?  We have regulators to regulate our regulators here.  You could more easily get a permit to build a sewage disposal plant on the White House lawn.

But in fact, Paul assures me that this is not the case.  In fact, the state is very interested in fish-friendly ways to generate clean energy, and Paul’s processes actually facilitate the safe and easy movement of fish and other aquatic animals.

Paul will be writing a few guest blog posts here soon; I’m certainly looking forward to checking them out.
