Breakthrough in Solar Thermal Hot Water Heating

I’m getting ready to make my first round of attempts to locate a few business partners for my client PlexiSun, a unique approach to solar thermal hot water heating.  Linked above is our online brochure.

My first task is to build a smallish database of the companies that would make the best potential candidates; I’ve been working on this over the last few days.  My tack here is to cast as wide a net as possible:

• Large Manufacturers of Sustainable Building Materials
• Large Industrial Players in Renewable Energy
• Solar Companies
• Hot Water Heater Manufacturers
• Large Dairies (as they need tons of hot water)
• Dairy Barn Builders
• New Equine Barns at Race Tracks
• Swimming Pool Supplies and Builders

Then, with my team, I need to comb through them and find the most senior person in product development who would pertain to this specific intellectual property, i.e., building-integrated solar thermal hot water heating.

From there, I hope to transfer to the prospect an instant understanding at a high level of what we’re talking about here, with words like:

“For people who use a great deal of hot water: dairies, laundromats, apartment buildings, hotels – even home owners with pools they’d like to heat, it’s a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to drive down their utility bills.  It’s a modular building product that efficiently collects solar energy and heats water while it’s functioning as a roof, or wall, or fence.”

I’ll use the brochure as necessary, since a picture is worth 1000 words, and this idea is a bit hard to conceptualize with words alone.

Next, I need to get across three key messages:

• Based on our prototyping and initial calculations, the value proposition to the end customer – and to you — has the potential to be quite attractive.

• As the world continues to “go green,” solutions like this are bound to succeed.

• We’re looking for a large business partner to build and sell this in the Americas.

What will my team and I find when we pound on this for a few dozen hours?  We’ll find out soon.

In the meanwhile, if you have any advice for a direction you think I’m missing, I hope you’ll let me know.
