Renewable Energy and Sustainable Agriculture–Dealing with Overpopulation and the Over-consumption of Resources

Renewable Energy and Sustainable Agriculture--Dealing with Overpopulation and the Over-consumption of ResourcesLongtime friend and supporter of 2GreenEnergy Steve Vachss sent me this piece on the eco-destruction of China.  With it, he wrote:  Barry Commoner may prove to be right, after so many years of being ignored. His metaphor of the human race multiplying like weevils within a finite bag of flour rings true. Gigantic populations of China, India and Africa may flow over their borders when they run out of potable water and productive agriculture.

Thanks.  Perhaps it’s incredible photography and narration like this that brings the terrible reality of this cataclysm home to people.  In any case, the bad news is that yes, overpopulation and over-consumption of resources are exposing huge populations to suffering on an unprecedented scale.  The good news is that renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and all the other good things we have at our fingertips hold the potential to change a great number of these horrible conditions quite rapidly.
